CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A man has been arrested in connection with a Thursday morning homicide, according to detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Jarius Tyrone Henley, 34, was charged for the death of Zhonton Berry. Detectives said Henley voluntarily spoke with detectives at police headquarters and confessed to the crimes.
Officers said they were called to the 7000 block of Snow Lane just before 10 a.m. Thursday for an assault with a deadly weapon. They said when they arrived, they found a man shot to death inside an apartment in the Heritage Park Apartments complex.
Henley was charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery.
Henley was taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office where he will remain in custody.
