WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators arrested a man they say intentionally started a massive fire that killed one person in Watauga County earlier this month at the Valle Landing Shops in Sugar Grove.
People were trapped in the apartments upstairs and some even jumped from the windows.
One shopowner, Macie Pietrowicz, was killed.
Police arrested Benjamin Williford, 30, and charged him with arson.
Deputies have not revealed a motive but say that the investigation is ongoing and there will be more charges.
