45-year-old man killed in highway hit-and-run

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A 45-year-old man was fatally struck by a car early Sunday morning in Chesterfield County, deputies said.

The man was hit at 1 a.m. on North Elm Street near Tiny Grove Church Road by Pageland. The driver fled the scene.

The victim's name has not been released.

Deputies are asking that anyone who has information about the accident to call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 803-896-9621 or 1-800-768-1505.

Channel 9 is asking troopers if they have a description of the vehicle that hit the man.
