Man pleads guilty in fatal car wreck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man facing DWI and involuntary manslaughter charges after a fatal wreck in south Charlotte will spend at least a year behind bars.

Bairon Sandoval, 24, pleaded guilty to the charges Thursday.

He was the driver of the truck that hit a patch of ice and ran into a tree on Tyvola Road in February, killing 20-year-old Tatiana Rivera.
