Man pleads guilty to hiring FBI agent to commit arson

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Cornelius man admited he tried to hire an undercover FBI agent to burn down someone's house.

Zulfiqar Kacho pleaded guilty in federal court Monday.

In March, agents said he offered $1,000 to burn down a private investigator's home. They said Kacho thought the man was trying to steal a woman from him, but the woman said she did not have a romantic relationship with Kacho.

A sentencing date has not been set.
