MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. - A Mount Holly man told Channel 9 he heard an explosion overnight before his house caught fire.
Firefighters said the man had burned something in the woods behind his house on Whippoorwill Lane on Sunday.
They believe it reignited Monday night and spread to his gas tank.
No one was hurt, but the man will have to stay with family since his home is damaged.
