Man stabbed in stomach, robbed while changing flat tire along I-85

GASTONIA, N.C. — Gastonia police said a man was robbed and stabbed after pulling over on Interstate 85 for a flat tire early Saturday morning.

According to Channel 9's partners at The Gaston Gazette, it happened around 1 a.m. near exit 19 in Gastonia.

Investigators said the victim was out of his car on the side of the highway when the suspect stabbed him in the stomach and stole his wallet.

The victim was taken to the hospital but it was not clear how badly he was hurt.

No arrests have been made.
