The Matthews Police Department confirmed a man died Friday afternoon after a tree fell on him. It happened in the 2600 block of Williams Road.
According to the police, the man was doing work in his backyard when a tree uprooted and fell on top of him.
The tree was on the victim’s property and did not cause any damage.
Information about the victim has not been released yet.
