MATTHEWS, N.C. — A woman hid in a closet while someone broke into her home Friday in Matthews.
She called 911 and told dispatchers that the suspect entered her home on Elkins Park Drive, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Officers were patrolling nearby and arrived on the scene just in time to see the suspect running out the back door, authorities said.
Officers established a perimeter around the home and after a brief search the suspect was found, police said.
The name of the suspect has not been released. Detectives are reviewing similar cases to determine if the same person is linked to other break-ins.
