Mayor Cannon announces Charlotte job fair

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Mayor Patrick Cannon announced job-seekers in Charlotte will have the opportunity to meet and interview with area employers at The Mayor's Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel. The hotel is located at 555 South McDowell Street.

The job fair is a part of the Mayor's "Working Together Works" initiative.

"Although unemployment rates have fallen, we must not take that downturn in unemployment for granted," Cannon stated. "There are people in Charlotte who are skilled workers, but are still looking for a position. My goal is to connect people who need jobs with local companies that have jobs available right now. Employers participating in my job fair have openings to fill in entry-level and supervisory positions."

As of Monday, Cannon said 62 employers have signed up to participate. The employer registration deadline is Wednesday. If you are an employer interested in participating, click here.

The event is free for job-seekers but registration is required for one of the two times. Click here to register for the 10 a.m. session. To register for the 11 a.m. session, click here.
