CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mecklenburg County will soon narrow down its candidates to sit on a new airport control board.
The state approved a law to take control of Charlotte Douglas International away from the city and give it to a regional board.
The city is challenging that law, but if it goes through, Mecklenburg County will get one seat on the board.
In Tuesday night's commission meeting, the county manager announced he has six applicants for the position so far.
