MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Mecklenburg County chair Ella Scarborough outlined priorities and goals in 2017 during her state of the County address Thursday morning.
Much of Scarborough’s speech focused on investing in education in the Mecklenburg County. She said that $625 million are dedicated to education and literacy, which is more than half of the county’s budget.
She said the staff is also preparing for the 2019 Mecklenburg County tax assessment. The county is adding more front line appraisers and managers for better and more accurate results.
