CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Medic officials said a pedestrian was hit and killed on Interstate 85 southbound near exit 36 on Friday night.
I-85 was shut down and at least one tour bus was stopped in connection with the incident. Police are investigating the accident that happened just before 10 p.m.
On Saturday, the North Carolina Highway Patrol identified the man killed as James Edward Springs and said he was hit by the tour bus.
