Men accused of killing family's dog added to 'Most Wanted' list

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office is desperate to find two men who they said terrorized a woman, then shot and killed her dog.

Authorities consider Gabriel Brown and Jalen Cook so dangerous they put them on the county's “Most Wanted” list.

Investigators said Brown, Cook and another man burst into the Salisbury home last week with guns.

Authorities said they held three people at gunpoint and fired several shots. One of the shots killed the resident’s dog Sasha.

Officers told Channel 9 the men stole several items, including a TV.

“It's very concerning because you never know when someone is going to strike,” said neighbor Angie Tidwell.

The house where the home invasion happened now sits empty, but others in the area are concerned that crime is out of control.

“It's crazy around here, I'm telling you. It's crazy,” Tidwell said.

Tidwell said someone tried to break into her home a couple months ago while she was asleep. The noise woke her up and she ran to the door.

“I had noticed someone had cut my screen, that's why I have the metal thing on my door now,” Tidwell said.

Neighbors said gunfire is common.

“People in this neighborhood shoot periodically you never know if someone is in danger or not,” said resident Lynn Hodges.

Hodges told Channel 9 she is ready for anything.

“If they're coming through that door, whether they want to steal something, rob something, they intend harm, and if they come through that door with harm they gone get harm back,” said Hodges said.
