GASTONIA, N.C. — Two men accused of robbing a woman in front of her 2-year-old grandson faced a judge Thursday in Gastonia.
Police captured DaeKwon Wakefield and Ahmad Wallace along Interstate 85 on Wednesday.
The victim, Bobbie Jo Rodriguez, said she let Wallace into her home Wednesday because she knew him.
That was when she said Wallace put a gun to her head and demanded money as her grandson watched.
"He could have killed me,” Rodriguez said. “Shot me in the face in front of my 2-year-old grandbaby. How can somebody be that cruel?”
Police said a woman picked the men up after the robbery.
Authorities were able to apprehend them a few miles away from the victim's home.
