MATTHEWS, NC — The Matthews Police Department is looking for a man who robbed two landscaping employees of a truck Monday morning and then torched it.
Investigators said the robbery happened just before 9 a.m. at BAPS Temple located at 4100 Margaret Wallace Road.
The robber came up to the two men behind the building, told them he had a gun, and ordered them out of the black 2006 Nissan Titan truck. He told them to leave their cell phones and wallets behind before driving off.
Just after noon, the Union County Sheriff’s Office found the truck on fire and burned beyond repair at 4563 State Line Road.
The robber was wearing dark clothing and a ski mask.
