WAKE FOREST, N.C. - First lady Michelle Obama will deliver remarks at a private memorial service for Maya Angelou on Saturday.
The services will be held at Wake Forest University’s Wait Chapel.

Angelou died last Wednesday at her home in Winston-Salem at age 86. She was known throughout the world as a literary pioneer and champion of civil rights and began teaching at Wake Forest in 1982, after she first visited the university to read her work.
The school says Angelou's family will be planning additional events in other cities across the country. That information will be released later.
