Mint Hill commissioner charged with assaulting neighbor

MINT HILL, N.C. - A Mint Hill commissioner has been charged with simple assault.

Lloyd Austin turned himself in to police Wednesday.

His neighbor claims the commissioner threw rocks and dirt in his face, then punched him in the back of the neck.

Austin has bonded out of jail and his next court date is in June.
