Mobile-home owners and renters could receive extra cash

NORTH CAROLINA — Some mobile-home owners and renters in North Carolina could have some extra money in their pockets soon.

The state's insurance regulator said two insurance companies have agreed to pay $1.6 million in refunds after some customers were overcharged.

Nearly 27,000 mobile-home-policy owners will divide more than $1 million in premiums paid, while 26,000 renters will divide $500,000.
