• Month-long investigation leads to 13 drug-related arrests

    KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - A months-long narcotics investigation by the Kannapolis Police Department and surrounding agencies led to the arrests of 13 offenders Saturday, as well as the identification of five other suspects wanted on drug-related charges.

    Officials said Operation Gray Death Nightmare was the culmination of a lot of long hours and hard work by investigators, and that it targeted people who have contributed to the opioid epidemic in areas including Concord, Charlotte, Salisbury, Rockwell and other communities.

    Authorities provided a list of the people arrested:

    Roddrick Breon Fowler, of Salisbury, faces five total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. His bond has been set at $70,000.

    Shasta Renea Rich, of Kannapolis, faces one charge of possession of heroin. Her bond has been set at $5,000.

    Tyson Jerome Carter, of Kannapolis, faces 18 total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. His bond has been set at $100,000.

    Corey Lemar Carter, of Kannapolis, faces 23 total charges of intent to sell and deliver heroin within 1,000 feet of a school and intent to sell and deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school. His bond has been set at $250,000.

    Kerrie Lynn Cauthen, of Kannapolis, faces six total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine. Her bond has been set at $25,000.

    Misty Lynn Johnson, of Kannapolis, faces one charge of delivering heroin. Her bond has been set at $10,000.

    Jered Matthew Campbell, of Kannapolis, faces two total charges of deliver heroin and possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin. His bond is set at $25,000.

    Courtney Diane Wright, of Salisbury, faces a charge of deliver schedule III C’s.

    Christopher Dale Grimes, of Kannapolis, faces three total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, sell heroin and deliver heroin. His bond is set at $10,000.

    Darryl Christopher Wedding, of Charlotte, faces a charge of deliver heroin.

    Roger Lee Hampton, of Concord, faces three total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, sell heroin and deliver heroin. His bond is set at $50,000.

    Tracey Lynn Garcia, of Kannapolis, faces a charge of possession of heroin.

    Kevin Neal Arnette, of Kannapolis, faces three total charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, sell heroin and deliver heroin. His bond has been set at $10,000.

    Authorities provided a list of the people who have not yet been located:

    Clyde Turaine Brand, of Kannapolis, faces two charges of sell heroin and deliver heroin.

    Joshua Glenn Johns, of Concord, faces a charge of deliver heroin.

    Karry Edward Daniels, of Kannapolis, faces two charges of possession of heroin and deliver heroin.

    Jason Ray Williams, of Rockwell, faces two charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and deliver heroin.

    Sarah Marie Hoffner, of Rockwell, faces three charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, deliver heroin and possession of methamphetamine.
