More rain expected through first half of week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The threat for rain will remain in the Charlotte area through the first half of the week.

After a rainy start to Monday morning, the metro area saw a break in the clouds and some sunshine. The chance for rain will return Tuesday though, with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected.

The showers will start to clear out by Wednesday, followed by a temperature warm-up. The high for Thursday is 74 degrees, and it is expected to be close to 80 degrees on Thursday.
