Most major road projects to be put on hold during holiday travel

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Friday, most major road construction projects will be put on hold to help holiday travelers have a smoother trip.

Workers will stop the road work at 4 p.m. and start working again on Jan. 2.

There are a few exceptions. Some construction projects on the coast and in Greensboro will continue this week.
