Huntersville, NC - A NASCAR family who decided to give back through the restaurant business, gave out their first round of donation Friday.
J.D. Gibbs, president of Gibbs Racing, and his wife, Melissa, gave $16,000 to three local charities.
The Gibbs family told Channel 9 back in June, they opened up the restaurant to donate 100 percent of their profits to charities rather than use it for personal gain.
On Friday, the checks were given to charities like the Make a Wish foundation, Levine Children’s Hospital, and Young Life.
The Family says they are planning to continue donating to charities, and they are asking their customers to help them choose the charities for next quarter.
