CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NASCAR Hall of Famer Ray Evernham was looking for a venture after retiring as perhaps the sport’s most famous crew chief. This month, he found it.
Evernham has bought JRi Shocks from company founder Jeff Ryan and will base the business in Mooresville.
“Since retiring from the competition side of NASCAR, I have been itching to find an opportunity to continue using my experience in business and engineering,” Evernham says. “So, when JRi was presented to me it was a natural fit.”
Ryan, who founded the business to supply shock absorbers to the racing industry in 2007, remains as a partner and vice president of engineering at JRi Shocks.
