NEWTOWN, CONN. - A major retailer is pulling some semi-automatic rifles from its shelves.
Dick’s Sporting Goods officials said the changes were made out of respect for the victims and families of the mass shooting.
The rifles will be pulled from all stores nationwide.
It’s unclear how long the stores will stop selling the rifles.
The store nearest to Newtown, Conn., pulled all guns from its shelves.
The shooting has stirred up a lot talk about gun control in the past few days.
It appears President Barack Obama is listening and he is ready to begin his first push to reduce gun violence.
Sources say Obama is not directing cabinet members to come up with a set of proposals that would ban assault rifles.
Some gun advocates are even agreeing that it’s time to rethink the laws.
