NC lawmakers continue discussions on class sizes

Lawmakers in Raleigh want parents to know they are taking the issue of classroom size seriously.

They are expected to come back in session in March to talk about the issue.

Many lawmakers said they want to see school data, including enrollment numbers, before making any decisions.

Beginning next school year, kindergarten through third grade won't have more than 20 kids per class.

This would cut programs, such as gym and art, for more money to hire teachers needed in additional classrooms.
