WILMINGTON, N.C. — A student has given birth in a bathroom at a Wilmington high school bathroom.
Schools spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum says the student gave birth in a bathroom around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hoggard High School.
The student and her baby were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Quattlebaum would not provide information on the student's grade or age because of federal student privacy laws.
The spokeswoman did not know the baby's gender.
