ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation closed a Rowan County bridge for maintenance.
The old Wilcox Bridge in Spencer over the Yadkin River will be closed for state inspectors to perform a bi-annual inspection. The bridge was closed Wednesday and may be closed Thursday.
NCDOT recommended the following detour: From Davidson County heading north on Old Salisbury Road turn right on NC-150, then take southbound Interstate 85 to exit 81 Longs Ferry Road, turn right onto Longs Ferry Road, continue to US-29/70 turn right onto US-29/70 heading north.
From Rowan County heading north, reverse route.
