CONCORD, N.C. - Organizers announced a handful of changes ahead of this year's Speed Street festivities Thursday morning.
The 600 Festival Association holds Speed Street in uptown Charlotte every year to commemorate the May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway and now it's adding three new events.
There will be 'Movies on the Campus' in Kannapolis, 'Haulers on Union' in downtown Concord and the 'Little 600' in Mooresville.
“A lot of these fans are going to be downtown waving checkered flags -- thousands and thousands of checkered flags – it’s going to be a great event,” said Concord Mayor, Scott Padgett.
