CHARLOTTE, N.C. - People in Charlotte are healthier and more in shape than this time last year, according to a new report.
The American College of Sports Medicine ranked the top 50 cities based on its American Fitness Index.
In 2013, Charlotte came in at number 36. This year, it jumped to number 27.
The index studied preventative health behavior, levels of chronic diseases and policies that support physical activity.
