CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Neighbors in the North Davidson neighborhood said they're worried after a sign advertising a Walmart Marketplace went up this week.
Eyewitness News did some digging into the project and found the Walmart Marketplace is not listed in the permits for the Mecklenburg Mill project.
The vice president of the The Community Builders that bought the mill in 2011 said a Walmart is not planned to go there.
“A Wal-Mart will not be going in that location.,” Rob Fossi said.
After the sign was erected, Concerned neighbors said no one was told about plans to build one of the smaller Walmart stores at the location.
One man told Eyewitness News he is concerned about the potential impact on real estate values for the NoDa community.
"It's going to be really horrible for the neighborhood. We've always had a really close neighborhood vibe," said Mark Delorezo.
