CHARLOTTE — North Tryon Road is closed between 31st and 32nd streets after a car took down a utility pole.
The crash happened around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Pictures from the scene showed the car with heavy front-end damage and the pole in pieces with wires down on the road.
Utility crews will have to replace the pole before the road can reopen.
