CONCORD, N.C. — A portion of a Concord police officer’s right thumb was severed after she was bitten by a dog Monday morning, police said.
Officers were at a home in the 200 block of Clintwood Drive to issue an arrest warrant when they said a dog attacked one of the officers.
Doctors were not able to medically reattach Officer Julia Soares’ thumb.
Soares has been released from the hospital and is recovering from home.
Doctors expect her to make a full recovery.
