CHARLOTTE - The community is raising money Sunday for a good cause.
The Pink Lady Fire Truck Pull will last until 5 p.m. Sunday at the North Carolina Music Factory. There are activities for the whole family.
The event raises money for Cops 4 the Cure, which provides support to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department employees affected by cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
CMPD Captain Michelle Hummel is a cancer survivor, and talked about what the event means to so many.
“The survivors all get up together and pull together, and pull that truck. It’s very symbolic of survivorship and heroism, and being strong and surviving,” Hummel said.
