Officials: 2 arrested for bringing loaded guns to airport

CHARLOTTE — Officials found two people trying to get through security with loaded guns at Charlotte-Douglas Airport on Monday.

Police said Randal Braswell was charged with carrying a concealed weapon on airport property after they found a .22 revolver and 24 rounds of ammunition on him.

The other person went through security with a handgun in a carry-on bag.

Transportation Security Administration officials said that person was cited by police.

In the last three weeks, TSA agents have found two other guns in travelers' luggage.

In 2013, TSA agents seized 26 guns at the airport. Charlotte had the 17th highest gun seizure in the country.
