YORK COUNTY, S.C. - The York County Sheriff's Office and the State Law Enforcement Division is investigating the death of an inmate at the York County Detention Center.
Around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, a detention officer found Leonard Daniel Savercool Jr., 25, lying in the floor of a housing unit unconscious and not breathing.
EMS personnel were immediately called and responded to the Detention Center.
Savercool was booked into the detention center on Friday on charges from the Fort Mill Police Department of petit larceny and entering premises after warning.
Savercool was from Salisbury.
