CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle after a north Charlotte crash that killed one of her passengers.
Police said Stephanie Bennett lost control of her SUV at Old Statesville and Gibbon roads Saturday afternoon. The car ran off the road and flipped.
Her passenger, Leonilla Farber, died.
Bennett and two minors were injured and taken to the hospital. They are expected to recover.
Police shut down Gibbon Road during their investigation.
