Victim ID'd in Huntersville's first homicide in 2 years

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Wednesday at the 16900 block of Landings Drive in Huntersville.

Police said they are searching for multiple people in the slaying -- the city's first homicide in two years.

Huntersville police said the victim in the shooting is 19-year-old Peter Jordan.

Police told Channel 9 they found Jordan shot two times on the front porch of one of the apartments.

A witness said he heard several shots fired and saw bullet holes in a front door.

He said not long after, a black car sped through the complex and they knew something wasn't right.

"We seen a black Impala go, hit all the speed bumps wide open and my girlfriend was shaken," said Pat Blackwelder. "She was like, 'I'm going to call 911,' and I was like, 'Why?' She said, 'Those were gunshots.' I said, 'Nah.'"

Police did not say who they are looking for or what they may be driving.

Police have not released the names of any suspects or what may have been the motive.

They plan to hold a news conference Thursday afternoon to release more information on the shooting.
