• Parsons schedule hearing with DSS for Thursday

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. - This week the adoptive parents of a missing Rowan County teen will be back at the courthouse fighting to regain custody of their youngest children.

Casey and Sandy Parsons have a hearing scheduled with the Department of Social Services on Thursday.

The couple lost custody of their youngest children shortly after their daughter Erica Parsons was reported missing at the end of July.

Erica Parsons disappeared almost two years ago.

The community has had three vigils since Erica Parsons was reported missing.

The next vigil is scheduled for Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. It will be at the Living Water Church of God in Kannapolis.

Organizers said it will be a praise and worship ceremony instead of a traditional candlelight vigil.
