Fire causes $100K-$150K in damages at business

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A section of Statesville Avenue was shut down Thursday afternoon because of a fire, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

It took 32 firefighters to get the fire under control in 12 minutes at an auto repair business.

Statesville Avenue between Lakeview and West W.T. Harris Boulevard was shut down before 2:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire was ruled accidental, but officials said it caused an estimated $100,000 to $150,000 in damages. Officials said the business is closed.
