CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a man was killed by a car early Monday morning in east Charlotte.
Investigators were called around 6 a.m. to the collision on Eastway Drive near Central Avenue and found 55-year-old Oscar Martinez Morales Jr.had been struck by a vehicle.
Investigators said Morales was not in a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing when it happened.
They also said the car was not speeding and it's suspected Morales was impaired by alcohol.

The inbound lanes of Eastway Drive were blocked while police investigated, but reopened around 8:15 a.m.
