Piedmont Natural Gas to expand at Fort Bragg

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Piedmont Natural Gas is expanding on Fort Bragg.

Charlotte-based PNC announced the agreement with the Department of Defense on Tuesday.

The utility company already owns 8 miles of natural gas pipelines on the base.

The agreement will allow the company to upgrade and maintain another 75 miles of pipeline for the next two and a half years.

The deal is awaiting approval from the state's utilities commission.
