Someone caused about $10,000 worth of damage to 20 golf carts after breaking into a storage barn at the Pine Lake Country Club, the Mint Hill Police Department said.
Officers were called to the country club on Lebanon Road on Tuesday, and discovered that the golf cart storage barn had been broken into, according to investigators. They said approximately 20 golf carts had been removed and damaged.
Police said the suspects took the carts onto the golf course and drove them recklessly, causing thousands of dollars in damage. There was also about $1,000 in damage to the landscaping and about $800 in damage to the cart barn, officers said.
All the golf carts were recovered.
Police ask that anyone with information about the incident contact the Mint Hill Police Department at 704-545-1085.
