Police: Lockdown lifted at 2 Cabarrus Co. schools after police activity

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Two schools in Cabarrus County were on lockdown as police search for suspects in a jump-and-run near the school. The lockdown was lifted around 1:10 p.m.

Cox Mill Elementary and Cox Mill High School went on lockdown around 12:10 p.m. Monday. Police said the incident started around 11:24 a.m. on Clarke Creek Parkway and Montrose Drive.

The schools are on Cox Mill Road.
