Police: Brother questioned in shooting death of 21-year-old Clover man

CLOVER, S.C. — York County investigators said they are trying to determine whether to charge a man in connection with the shooting of his brother.

Police said the shooting was reported early Thursday morning. Deputies found the younger brother shot to death in his home in Clover.

The incident sent shock waves through the small neighborhood.

“It's terrible. I can't even imagine it,” said neighbor Marlene Elliotte.

Officials said a 22-year-old who lives at the home called 911 just after 1 a.m. Investigators said when they arrived, they learned the 21-year-old brother had been shot and killed.

Police said the two brothers lived there with their father, who is out of town.

Neighbors said the brothers were often together and seemed close.

“They would work outside with their daddy on cars and this and that,” Elliotte said.

“They were so close together. They worked all the time,” neighbor Alan Brendle said.

Investigators said they are questioning the brother. No charges have been filed in the case.
