Police ask for help identifying drink machine thieves

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. —

Gaston County police are searching for two men after they broke into a drink machine at Lucia Food Mart, 104 Killian Road, in Stanley.

The store’s surveillance video captured the theft around 2:13 a.m. Wednesday. The men used a hammer-type object and pry bar to beat the lock off the drink machine and open it.

Police said the men drove up in a white Chevrolet full-size truck with silver rims.

One of the thieves appears to be about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a tan jacket and a gray hooded sweatshirt underneath the jacket. He also had on a ball cap and the hood of his sweatshirt was pulled up over his head.

The second man was about 6 feet tall. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket, with a dark hooded sweatshirt underneath the jacket. He also had the hood pulled over his head.
