IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. - Police charged a former public information officer for Iredell-Statesville schools accused of stealing money.
Melissa Creason was charged with embezzlement and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Investigators said the criminal activity stemmed over a seven-year period.
They said Creason took travel funds and stole school property.
She remains in jail on a $30,000 bond.
