Police: Charlotte man stabs victim over game of pool

FORT MILL, S.C. — A Charlotte man has been charged with attempted murder for stabbing another man at a Fort Mill bar over a game of pool.

Police said Richard Morris attacked the victim, Jake Chismar, Monday night for being too loud.

Witnesses at the Drunken Goat on Rubin Center Drive said he told Chismar and his friends to quiet down because he had money at stake in a game of pool.

Police told the Herald of Rock Hiill that Morris got fed up and pulled out a pocket knife.

He is accused of slashing at Chismar's neck, chest and hands.

Chismar is expected to recover.

When officers tracked down Morris he claimed the men jumped him and he only pulled out the knife in self-defense.

He's being held in jail with no bond.
