Police: Convicted killer leads police on 100 mph chase after shoplifting

A convicted killer was captured in Gastonia, after police said he shoplifted then led them on a 100 mph chase.

Police released dashcam video of the chase that occurred Thursday morning.

Police said Jerry Dickey stole more than $100 worth of items from a Family Dollar store in Clover, South Carolina.
        
The chase ended at the state line.
    
Officers ended up arresting him when he got out of the car at a home in Gastonia.

Dickey faces a number of charges, including possession of stolen property.
        
He was also convicted back in 1992 for second-degree murder.
        
He served five years of a 15-year sentence.
