The Mooresville Police Department said it discovered a small drug lab Thursday night in a home on Duffy Drive after officers were called there for an unknown medical condition.
Police found a 17-year-old boy having trouble breathing inside the home. Officers said before he was taken to the hospital he revealed he had been using drugs and he had a small drug lab in the home.
An investigation revealed the 17-year-old was in the process of making dimethyltryptamine (DMT), a psychedelic compound and hallucinogen.
The State Bureau of Investigation was called to help clean up the lab.
Police are still investigating the incident and charges are pending.
